Draft for review before launch · Last updated 2026-10-26
Recall stores your flashcards and study history so it can schedule your reviews. This page explains what we keep, why, and who helps us run the service.
What we store
- Your account: email address, name (if you sign in with Google), and your plan.
- Your learning: decks, cards and the images in them, your reviews (grades, times and how long you took), answers you submit on cards, and learning notes.
- Service records: a log of requests between your chat assistant and Recall, kept for 14 days to fix problems, and sign-in sessions.
Why
To run Recall: show your cards, schedule reviews, keep your library across chats and devices, and improve how cards are made. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who helps us run Recall
- OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude): when you use Recall in ChatGPT or Claude, your cards and answers pass through that assistant under its maker's own terms.
- Cloudflare: hosting and database.
- Google: if you choose "Continue with Google", to confirm who you are.
- Resend: to send sign-in emails.
- Stripe: to take payments if you subscribe. We never see your card number.
- jsDelivr: some interactive cards load open-source libraries from it while you study.
Your choices
You can export everything, or download any deck as a spreadsheet file, and you can delete a deck, your archived decks, or your whole account (with all its data) at any time. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Our hosting provider keeps encrypted database backups so the service can recover from failures; deleted data can remain in those backups for up to 30 days before they expire.
